1ST CORINTHIANS 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

I want to thank you for having your school and teaching me how to draw. I still have a long to go, but I would not be where I am had I not met you.

Here is a sample of the demons you gave me the skills to unleash:

I hope you are well. Please let me know should you ever decide to teach again.

Thanks Again,

Hi Mark,
This is Kevin, long time no see. Really glad to be able to find you online :)

I just want to thank you for all the things you have taught at Associates and for giving me my first teaching job at the school.

I still keep in touch with Charlie Wen, Carlo Arellano, Paul Wee along with many friends over at Associates.

I wish you the best and please keep us updated with your news and art works.

Best,
Kevin Chen

Hi Mark!

It's good to see that you're up and about these days! I was the last of your students from Associates in Art...up until I took classes from you at your home. Sorry that I never finished that Sargent painting...remember that one! Anyway, I teach art for LAUSD now. I still use all of my notes I took while attending your course...super helpful! What are you up to these days?

Mark, what you know, what you are able to teach is desperately needed. I took one class at AIA, a few more at AAI. I always hoped to learn from you, I had heard such good things about your teaching. I hope you teach again. I don't know if you are in good health, I hope so. Please let us all know if/when you decide to teach again.

Dear Mark Westermoe,
i just wanted to let you know that you are one of the kindest and most brilliant teachers that I have ever met.....Watching you draw was an experience like nothing else, and your mastery and sensitivity in drawing and painting, has few rivals in this day and age. I read on this that you were not well, and I pray for your recovery....but I am a bit late in reading this so hopefully my information is dated and you have returned your strength.
Here's some of my work that I feel you helped me achieve:

You were one of the kindest, most talented and gracious teachers that I have ever met. Please keep on drawing and painting.

You taught me about the spiral Mark, the last lesson. That things invert and fold in on themselves before they can erupt again. That without this final understanding, the previous lessons are not usable.

Hi Mark,

It's been about eleven years since you taught me, and I haven't spoken to you in about six or seven years. I so appreciate the skill and professionalism by which you conveyed your lessons. Your school was the single greatest influence on my artistic development, and the ability I gained as a result of attending has kept me as a professional in the entertainment industry for over six years now. Thank you for that! There are many people in the art world, but few who care enough about budding artists to imbue them with a sense of confidence the way you did. I was so inspired by your kindness and generosity that I seek to help others develop their skills the way you did, though I have finally resigned myself to the fact that I will probably never draw as well as you. I sincerely hope you are doing well. Daniel Hughes
